Things to Do

Explore what the island has to offer

Food

There's plenty of tzatziki to go around

What Santorini is known for

Fava is probably the most famous and iconic traditional dish in Santorini. Also be sure to try other island favorites like tomato keftedes (fritters), white eggplant, and chlorotyri (goat cheese found only on Santorini).

A few places to eat

  • Anemoloos is a must (Exo Gonia)
  • Pitogyros - probably one of the best gyros I've ever had (Oia)
  • Thalami (Oia)
  • Lefkes (Finikia)
  • Kantouni (Pyrgos)
  • Cave of Nicholas (Akrotiri)
  • Elias Grill (Kamari)
  • Panigyri Festival Food (Fira)
  • Argo (Fira)

Drink

Not much can grow on Santorini, but they still figured out how to make wine and beer

Breweries

  • Santorini Brewing Company

Beaches

The geology of Santorini makes its beaches more unique than most

Variety in sand and scenery

  • The 8 Best Beaches in Santorini
  • Kamari Beach: busiest, most family-friendly
  • Red Beach: no creature comforts, just unique scenery (there have been reports of some falling rock on the path down to the beach so proceed with caution)
  • Monolithos: the most kid-friendly beach with shallow water and the nicest sand
  • Perivolos and Perissa Beaches (Black Beach): the best sand and swimming (Perivolos is quieter)
  • Ammoudi Bay: the best swimming spot on Santorini, but not actually a beach
  • Eros Beach: surrounded by breathtaking cliffs naturally carved by the wind

Villages

For such a small island, the villages of Santorini offer a wide range of experiences
